4 apples, e.g. Boskopp
1 tbsp sugar
50 ml water
1 tbsp lemon juice
1 cinnamon stick

Instructions

Peel and core the apples and cut them into pieces. The pieces should be about the size you want them to be later in the compote.

Put the apples in the pot with the water, cinnamon stick, sugar and lemon juice and simmer over medium heat with the lid closed for 15-20 minutes until the apple pieces have broken down.

Remove the cinnamon stick. Allow to cool slightly and enjoy directly – or store in the fridge for a few days.
